Hi Eltimbalino, I'm Chris Schilling, a community organizer at the Wikimedia Foundation who is involved with supporting this campaign on new readers. Thanks for this describing this problem related to Khmer script that affects the ability of folks in Cambodia to surface useful search results on Wikipedia. I had not been aware of this issue until reading about it in your idea. I'll need to consult with some other staff members about how one might go about fixing this issue with how search is conducted on Wikimedia projects to see how we might proceed here. One place that you could likely start to inquire about this problem is on Phabricator, where many technical problems or enhancements related to Wikipedia and other projects are discussed and resolved. Can I help you get a discussion started on phabricator regarding this issue? Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:30, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Eltimbalino: I've started a task on Phabricator to start to address this specific querying issue for Khmer script, see and follow the discussion at task T185721. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 21:51, 25 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Chris for creating task T185721. I believe this is a much more suitable location for this task than the IdeaLab project. Now that it has a home, should I / am I able to remove it from the IdeaLab collection? Or is it better directing interested traffic to the Phabricator and preventing duplication?
