Grants talk:IdeaLab/Wiki Loves Pride 2014

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Unless you are interested in limiting the campaign to the English Wikipedia, I'd recommend placing the central coordination page for the campaign outside a particular language Wikipedia, e.g. here on Meta. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 01:29, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. Thanks for the feedback, Asaf. There are Wiki Loves Pride pages at Meta, though I failed to include that on the grants page. This has been corrected. There is no restriction to English Wikipedia, though so far (I believe) Wiki Loves Pride pages have only been created at Meta and ENWP. It also happens to be the home wiki for the two lead organizers (Dorothy and myself). Part of why I have submitted this "idea" is to recruit assistance and support so that the project's scope can grow. I foresee there being a lot of work, time and energy spent coordinating this outreach project in my native English, so it is hard for me to know how much time I can devote to furthering multi-lingual efforts. I certainly agree that there is great value in having the project executed in as many languages as possible, and I would support and appreciate volunteers who might be able to help make that happen. --Another Believer (talk) 04:43, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Learning Patterns[edit]

Hi Another Believer,

Thanks for sharing this idea - looking forward to seeing it gather participants and momentum :) I like the idea of using learning patterns as an event-planning support system, will be interested to see how well this works if you test this approach. I expect you'd need to create some additional patterns as part of the project?
