Hello @Cdilalo47 thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 22,600 GHS (1,920 USD) with the following recommendations: First we commend the team’s efforts at contributing to efforts to bridge the information gaps and unfamiliarity of students with Wikimedia projects in Ghana.

  • We recommend that the team reviews the project budget lines related to flyers, banners and prizes. Additionally, given that this is the project team’s first outing, we recommend a more conservative projection of attendance. This recommendation is based on previous experiences shared by other organisers. The goal of about 100 participants is impressive, however half that number is likely more realistic. The learnings from this process can inform on future targets.
  • While the proposal mentions the methods for engaging participants before and during the activities, there is limited detail on the post-event engagement and follow-up plan. Consider elaborating on how you might sustain the participants' interest and involvement after the training sessions and edit-a-thons. For instance, ongoing support, mentorship, or invitations to other community events could encourage long-term engagement with Wikimedia projects.
