Rapid Fund Request Approved[edit]

Thank you for applying to the rapid fund program. We have approved funding in the amount of 11739000 TZS. Please see the comments below linked to the funding decision;

  • The core team has 1 person who holds relative expertise in the projects. The group needs to invest time in upskilling the core team with the needed technical skills. We suggest having the first month focusing on some version of core team upskilling before embarking on the remaining 6 months of the project.
  • The group needs to establish a clear plan and share it on the group's project page on the engagement of participants of the project in between the in-person sessions. What support is being provided to participants during this period?
  • Need to establish robust tools to measure the progress of participants in their Wikimedia projects skills.
  • Lastly - you need to clearly define what editors in the event are able to do, what actions the editors can take after the event - how about after 6 months, and what support the group is providing to make this possible. Putting in SMART objectives together with clear metrics will support you in assessing whether the project is working or not, and this is beyond quantitative metrics. There are other ways of tracking editor growth and retention; here is a tutorial on how to use PAWS to query retention with this template and tutorial (English. We would like you to deepen your approach to tracking retention beyond just the number of attendees.
