  • Strong support Strong support - I think this proposal is going to contribute to the Movement Strategy by way of reaching out to new users with or without prior knowledge of Wikimedia Foundation or its projects and bringing in new readers and knowledge promoters into the loop.

Endorsment from Atibrarian (talk)[edit]

Building on previous successes recorded in the first implementation, this project aimed at enhancing media and information literacy skills among secondary students and teachers in Abuja metropolis specifically by:

  • Educating and Improving Media and Information Literacy Skills: The emphasis on enhancing media and information literacy skills among secondary students is of paramount importance in today's digital age. By incorporating Wikipedia into the classroom, students will not only gain access to a vast repository of information but will also be equipped with critical skills to evaluate and navigate the digital landscape responsibly. This initiative will undoubtedly contribute to the holistic development of students and prepare them for the challenges of the information era.
  • Training 60 New Teachers in Secondary Schools: The proposal to train 60 new teachers, with 10 educators from each secondary school, is a strategic approach to ensure the sustainability and scalability of the project. Certified teachers will play a pivotal role in disseminating knowledge effectively, fostering a culture of information literacy within their respective schools, and ensuring the long-term success of the initiative.
  • The Evaluation of Information and Creation of New Knowledge: The emphasis on evaluating information and fostering the creation of new knowledge is a forward-thinking aspect of the project. By encouraging students to go beyond passive consumption and actively engage with information, the project aims to instill a sense of curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. This aligns with our shared vision of education as a means to not only acquire knowledge but also to contribute meaningfully to the generation of new insights. Hence, I Strong support Strong support

Review of Wikidata experience[edit]

As this proposal names Wikidata, I have performed a review of the team members' experience and record on that project.

  • Neutral Neutral Clement Dike has a clear record, but very limited experience on Wikidata. I therefore cannot endorse them as a Wikidata trainer at this time.
  • Oppose Oppose Atibrarian has a significant history of creating items that are deleted because they fail to establish notability, as recently as within the last week. I am concerned that this lack of appreciation for project policy would make them unsuitable as a trainer for the Wikidata project.
  • Question? There seem to be a large number of participants listed, but not specifically associated with a username.

The co trainers are certified teachers who participated in the first pilot program, they will work with the implementation team which will help them deepen their facilitation skills and coordinate such program in their s.
Atiba is a certified trainer on reading Wikipedia in the class room and has experience in editing Wikipedia, he was part of the implementation that piloted reading Wikipedia in the classroom Abuja 2023. Clement Dike (talk) 21:22, 6 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
