Not funded[edit]

Hello Justine Msechu, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund request. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. After reviewing submitted applications by your group, we have decided to not fund them.

  • We recommend that you reach out to Wikimedians of Arusha group, discuss how they can support your group with the General Support fund and request funding through the local mini-grants program.

We also have a request regarding your group name.

  • Wikimedia Community User Group Kilimanjaro is not a recognized Wikimedia affiliate. However, on your Meta-Wiki page, social media, and/or Fluxx Grantee Portal you are presenting yourself as a recognized affiliate and this is misrepresentation that also goes against the trademark policy. We request that the group designation is updated and corrected on the relevant Meta-Wiki pages, Fluxx Grantee Portal, and other public-facing pages or materials. Even if the group title mentions that you are a "proposed" or "planned" affiliate you cannot use Wikimedia logos or marks to reference your own organization/group, you cannot refer to yourself as a "User Group" or "Wikimedia [country name]" if this hasn't been explicitly approved by the Affiliation Committee. You can reach out to the Affiliation Committee if further guidance is needed regarding the recognition and existence of Wikimedia movement affiliates. Please confirm that you read and acknowledged this request.

On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team, Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:16, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
