Feedback from the South Asia regional funds review team[edit]

Hello PANKAJ DEO, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund request.

  • We appreciate your efforts put into reviving the Wikimedia Movement in Nepal by focusing on the Maithili community. We are sorry to hear that your activities and community were largely affected by the COVID pandemic.
  • We agree with you that organizing a community meetup can be a good step to engage the community members and set priorities. Your plan to work with different stakeholders also seems interesting.

Questions:

  • Your proposal does not mention any potential risks. Could you please think about any potential risks and how would you address them? Add your response to Question 6.
  • Have you explored potential partnerships with local organizations, educational institutions, or cultural groups that may have an interest in promoting Maithili language and culture? Add your response to Question 7.
  • This application should be submitted on behalf of the Maithili Wikimedians User Group because you are one of the main leads and others involved are members of the User Group. Additionally, activities are connected to the focus of Maithili Wikimedians User Group. Change the grant type to Wikimedia affiliate (question A.) and fill out additional information.
  • You have one salaried position. For salaried positions, we request a list of the responsibilities and description why this cannot be done with volunteer efforts. Add your response to Question 8.
  • How will you ensure the safety of children and youth participating in the project? Is there any youth safety policy in place? You did not provide a Youth Safety policy which is a requirement. Add your response to Question 10.1.

We sent the application back to you to add the responses to the questions posted into your original application on Fluxx. Please complete this by July 28, 2023. Thanks again for your contribution and time. Looking forward to hearing from you.
