Follow-up questions for grant application
[edit]Hello @Vickylin77amis, @Iyumu and @Akamycoco,
Thank you for putting in an application for the rapid fund grant. It was so lovely to speak to Iyumu and to learn about your project. These are further questions, we'll love to have your responses to:
Local Context
- Could you share about the history and growth of the 閩南/ 福建 Wiki community over time?
- What are the main wikiprojects that the community (or key editors) has/have knowledge about and contribute to?
Impact
- What is the vision or idea that you envision for the 閩南/ 福建 Wiki community and the state of wikiprojects that the community contributes to? (i.e. desired state)
Programme and Strategy
- Questions 2 and 3: Could you provide further elaboration to questions 2 and 3? For example, in your responses, you answered what you plan to do, but not how, why (i.e. why this is the most preferred approach) and who (i.e. person doing it, if there is one)?
- Question 2: What are some potential risks which could happen with the project and do you have any mitigation strategies?
- Question 5: Could you provide further background and experience of the team? Have you worked together before? Have you had some experience with participating in or organising similar activities/projects? Within the team, how many are native speakers? And what is the level of language proficiency (if applicable)?
- Project timeline
Learning and Evaluation
- Question 15: The areas that you have identified for learning and evaluation sounds interesting and can be further expanded. Would you be able to rephrase them into questions? Here’s a learning resource which we share with general support fund applicants, and could be useful for you too. So sorry, the learning resource is currently available in English and we are in the process of translating this into other languages. Thank you for your patience.
- Question 16, you may wish to also review the learning resource to better evaluate if your proposed metrics will help you answer your learning questions. For example: How do you plan to answer your learning questions? What type of data do you need? How will you collect the data? When will you collect it? Who will be working on reviewing and analysing the data? These can be a combination of qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Question 17, you may wish to review the learning resource to examine if you can present and disaggregate the data further.
- Question 18, do you have a sample of how wiktionary and wikidata pages should look like? This would be a useful reference on the quality of content that will be created.
Budget Alignment
- The maximum allowable budget for a rapid fund grant is USD 5,000. Could you adjust your project budget accordingly? Thank you.
Individual/ Team Capacity
- As a first time applicant, what type of support do you think would be useful for you to carry out the project implementation and reporting?
- What type of support do you think Wikimedia Taiwan or the wider Wikimedia community can provide?
- Are you familiar with other smaller wikimedia communities or indigenous language communities in Taiwan? What are some of your learnings and observations?
Others
- Could you adjust the start and end dates respectively? The start date can be from early Feb 2023.
I'll be returning your application to you via Fluxx so that you can may make further edits to your application (as needed). For example based on subsections above - programme and strategy, learning and evaluation and others.
Please feel free to respond in any language you prefer on this talkpage.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Jacqueline JChen (WMF) (talk) 04:55, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
Capturing responses from applicant
[edit]Sharing the responses on behalf of the applicant. These were captured on both the application meta page and on fluxx.
Local Context
Impact
長程的願景是期待SIL將台語變更代碼,成為一個獨立語言。近期的目標則希望吸引更多人參與在地化編輯,一起貢獻
Programme and Strategy
Additions captured in questions 3 and 5.
Learning and Evaluation
Additions captured in questions 15 to 18.
Budget Alignment
Adjusted.
Individual team capacity
