Funded[edit]

Hello Kambai Akau, thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 3,796,100 NGN (4,993.9 USD) with the following comments;

  • The team's efforts and building a thriving Tyap community are recognised and commendable. Given the work to date, it is important that the team takes this opportunity to pause and reflect deliberately about what impact means for the Tyap language community. This is especially in relation to how the community grows and engages with the other communities. This project appears to present a good opportunity to do so, and we encourage the team to document the learnings from this work. Note this would be critical for assessing future work success metrics and potential impact.
  • Do document and include in your final report what kinds of feedback was received from the participants regarding a) the training style and b) their interest in continuing to use what they have learned from this training and finally c) what the potential barriers are to participants using what they have learned from this training. It would be especially helpful to know how what participants surface as most beneficial from their engagements with the Romanian community and vice versa.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 11:51, 29 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks indeed for the positive feedback granted us as a team. We hope to implement these recommendations stated above during our coming events and the reports made in good time.

I believed this project would create an avenue for the Tyap editors to experience a new waves of international collaboration and to also bring a sense of friendship and togetherness as wikimedians. It's also an avenue to create awareness about wikimedia in our tertiary institutions by bringing the Tyap community together to recruit them and expand our editors network. So I hereby endorse this project and promised to be a part of the success story from start to finish. Friday musa (talk) 15:57, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Tyap Wikimedians User Group or what is also known as the Tyap Wikimedians Organisation is always involved in organising events within her domiciled communities. In the past years, it had planned and executed many projects with laudable achievements. I have no doubt that this grant would help this community of Wikimedians grow in their quest to positively influence people in the communities around.
