Sustainability of the Project[edit]

This initiative is not just about increasing representation but also about acknowledging the rich tapestry of knowledge and expertise that Nigeria offers to the global community. By highlighting the achievements and contributions of health professionals, we empower the continent's voices to be heard worldwide. This endeavor aligns perfectly with the principles of knowledge sharing and diversity that Wikimedia stands for. It's a crucial step towards a more inclusive and accurate representation of Nigerian perspectives in the digital realm.

Also, the project aimed at creating a long term impact on the Nigeria Wikipedian community as Wikiproject medicine has been informed about the project https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wiki_Project_Med#Wiki_love_health_professionals_and_hospitals_in_Nigeria. The above approaches would ensure the sustainability of the project. Taofeeq Abdulkareem (talk) 22:26, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Aim of the project[edit]

The project aim to involve Editors in medical line in Nigeria who will work together in order to increase the visibility of health professionals and hospitals. After the project, the Editors will be retained and mentored to continue to work on similar projects which is part of the aim of wikimedia foundation.

As a medical personnel and a wikimedia editor, I will be available physically to ensure the success of the project. Abdullahalaba (talk) 04:29, 21 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Impact of the project[edit]

The project's impact is measurable. The project has both short and long impact. For the short impact, it will bring together editors that will improve articles related to health professionals and hospitals in Nigeria. According to pet scan, there are less than 20 Nigerian hospitals and health professionals who currently have articles on English Wikipedia out of the thousands of notable health professionals and hospitals

For the long impact, the project aim to be creating an annual regional campaign that would be focusing on these categories.

Lastly, I have been informed of the project and my roles and I will be available to offer my support. Taoheedah (talk) 04:35, 21 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

The project lead has done an extensive research to identify the problems and she has strategically curated steps to solving them. Therefore, I endorse the project based on the following;

  • Clear objectives: the project would focus on health professionals and hospitals in Nigeria.

Not Funded[edit]

Hello @Tesleemah thank you for submitting your application for the rapid fund grant. After careful review, we have decided not to fund your application at this time. While we appreciate your efforts in addressing health-related topics on Wikipedia, the current plan does not provide enough clarity regarding the specific objectives and outcomes you are seeking. The health topic on Wikipedia is often sensitive, and as such projects targeting this topic need to have clear plans that show how you might mitigate any projected concerns, such as tampering, to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the information being added.

Additionally, please note that the queries shared are not easily accessible for review. We encourage you to refine your project proposal and apply in future rounds. Ensure to clearly outline objectives, methodologies, and addressing the concerns mentioned above. You can also reach out to the Wikimedia Nigeria User group who would be willing to provide the necessary support you may need to ensure impact on your project.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 19:47, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
