Strong support Strong support: This is a topic of impact and is highly recommend in my community because the south-eastern region is affected with erosion and other environmental challenges in my community. Creating awareness and encouraging participants to contribute is a great start. I endorse this project because the proposal's strategies and objectives will achieve expected results.

Strong support Strong support Erosion is one of the major set backs in environmental development in the South East, A project of this nature will go a long way in creating a forum where participants will champion the fulfilment of the objectives using Wikipedia as a tool. --Oby Ezeilo (talk) 19:16, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Soil erosion is a major issue in South East Nigeria. If unchecked, erosion can strip away valuable soil and negatively affect the water we consume, our ability to grow food and overall general livehoood. This project will help to create awareness about the Issue and proffer solutions to the menace. Ugwulebo (talk) 13:32, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not funded[edit]

Hello Iwuala Lucy,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • We think that most of the proposed activities are not directly connected to Wikimedia projects. Although the theory of change is an important one, it is not directly aligned with the mission of the Wikimedia movement.
  • We think that an initial research should be considered before organizing the photowalk in the proposed locations. Moreover, we think that it would be great if you have professionals in the team before addressing environmental or climate change-related issues in the proposed scope.

Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 13:44, 23 September 2022 (UTC) (on behalf of Middle East and Africa Regional Funds Team)[reply]
