Endorsement[edit]

Wikimedia Awareness in Dukku would be the first ever Wikimedia Awareness in Dukku community. Here are my comments ;

Sustainability: The project lead is not only a member of the community but a member of different writing organizations this would help to recruit people who can positively contribute to Wikimedia Foundation projects for a very long time. Also, the project lead would set up a community of Wikimedia editors as this would help to keep the editors together and further strengthen the impact of the project.

Gender gap: I met the project lead during the train the trainer in Northeastern Nigeria. She was one of the two women that came for the three days intensive training and I believe hosting the programmes in her community would help to recruit capacitated women as Wikimedia project volunteers.

Team: The project lead assembled an experienced team that can help in the successful delivery of the project. The team has successfully carried out Wikimedia projects and have attended different trainings too. They are in the same region as the project lead and would be there to offer their quota toward the success of the project.

In conclusion, I have been informed of my roles in the programme and I will be there physically to support the project lead. Ibjaja055 (talk) 06:08, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Endorsement[edit]

Having previously worked with the project lead before. I can testify to her ability to carry out the project successfully. Also, I have the following comments; The project would not only promote the active participation of women in the Northern region but also motivate them to do more.

The project lead is a key factor of the community and she is going to create awareness among the writing groups of the community. This would go a long way to guide them in contributing to the Wikimedia foundation project.

Lastly, the project lead has stated that a community would be created to oversee the activities of the recruited volunteers after the project. This would go a long way to retain the editors to continue to contribute to the Wikimedia Foundation project. Abdulazeez Taufeeq (talk) 04:54, 10 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Creating awareness at Dukku is a sustainable project that will continue to exist even after the completion of the project. As an experienced Hausa Wikimedia editor and a stakeholder at the Hausa Wikimedia User Group, we will work with her to ensure that the volunteers recruited from the region join the wider community.

Also, seeing Seeing a young and vibrant woman leading a sustainable project will not only motivate other women in the region especially north eastern Nigeria but it will also increase the number of women volunteers and contents about women.

I like the sustainability plan of the project and as such endorse the Dukku awareness project. I like the enthusiasm for the project's commitment to raising awareness and fostering lasting contributions within the Dukku community. Usmanagm (talk) 00:59, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not Funded[edit]

Hello @Ojewuyib thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed your grant application and decided to not fund your application at this time. We encourage the team to refrain from submittal duplicate applications as it does not portray the team in good light. This is especially because this application is almost identical to these other applications—> Wikipedia Awareness In Billiri Community, Wikimedia Awareness in Medical College, GSU.

The projects are similar, meant to be implemented in the same state in Nigeria and by overlapping team members. We strongly recommend that the team reaches out to the Hausa Wikimedians user group in future to ensure that you are able to receive the right level of support and guidance that may be required.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 11:57, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
