Strong Support[edit]

This program is very important, especially in educating Wikipedia and give awareness to students about what Wikipedia means with Anyone can edit. Many people in our communities didn't believe in Wikipedia because they think anyone can edit and add whatever he wants. I am one of the Facilitators, as a experienced Wikimedian I will try my best to make the program effectively. I Strong support Strong support this project. —Gwanki 12:26, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent[edit]

I offer my highest recommendation for this project to be considered. The university community, with the acceptance of this proposal by Wikimedia Foundation, will unequivocally launch a formidable structure in the hub of Wikipedia's projects, especially with the creation of a club to sustain the project beyond the timelines of the proposal. 102.91.5.25 11:47, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good community outreach[edit]

The project is planning to sensitize 500 elites, (staff and students of university community). This will not only go a long way to promote Wikimedia and it's sisters' projects but will also create a diversed Wikimedia contributors. Taoheedah (talk) 10:32, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from MEA regional funds staff[edit]

Hi Ibjaja055, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.

  • How do you plan to run these activities given that there is a nation-wide strike in the universities of Nigeria? We request that you update the project start and end dates to be after the strike (question N & O).
  • Could you please confirm that you have reached out to all team members and they agreed to take part in this project?

Please make indicated changes on Fluxx. Please log in to the Grantee Portal and you will see your application in the 'Proposals need attention' section. Please edit and re-submit your application by August 14, 2022.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:28, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All the team members mentioned in the project have been contacted and they are fully aware of the project.
On the issue of the nationwide strike, at first, the strike was a warning strike which was expected to last for two weeks. However, it was extended due to breakdown of agreement. Upon seeing that, I and the team members have reached out to the students Union and the management. The union has reached out to the students who are now sitting at home without doing anything tangible through various WhatsApp and telegram platforms. They appreciated the project and have show their commitment toward the realisation of the project. Since most of the students are within the catchment area, we plan to go on with project and we believe that the physical and online trainings will go a long way to have tremendous impact in achieving the stated goals.
Thank you. Ibjaja055 (talk) 22:04, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
