Feedback for Improvement[edit]

Hello @Aishik Rehman Thank you for your interest in supporting your community as a Movement Charter Ambassador. We have reviewed your proposal, and have the following comments and feedback.

  • Please note that budget line items related to research will not be approved for this program.
  • In the activities section, please share the list (including links) for the pages you intend to translate for these conversations.
  • Do provide more details regarding the number of online meetings you intend to hold in the course of implementing this project.
  • Additionally, do provide more clarity regarding the number of people you intend to hold these conversations with. It would be good to know how many community members you intend to engage with in the course of implementing this project.

As these grants are meant to enable wide community engagement, community endorsements will be taken into consideration for the final decision. Currently, you have one. Does this mean that the  community is not informed of your intentions? Please consider including a link to a community conversation where you may already have shared your intentions with the community.

Please respond to these comments on or before Wednesday, the 6th of September. All the best, YPam (WMF) (talk) 10:18, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@YPam (WMF),
  • I have included information on the grants page regarding the specific pages to be translated into Bangla for the program.
  • We've conducted several meetings between the coordinator and facilitators, with another planned before the translation phase begins. Following the translation, we intend to organize three to five group meetings with community members to provide comprehensive insights into the movement charter and the ambassador program.
  • We will schedule 25 to 35 individual meetings based on contributor availability in the coming weeks.
As the project's success hinges on grant approval, we have refrained from sending mass messages, aligning with our community's general practice (I'm well aware of this because I have previously received grants from the WMF, as well as multiple micro-grants from various regional and global programs). Instead, we sent messages to our community's social media groups on Telegram and Messenger.
After your feedback, we've introduced a newsletter on all Bengali Wikimedia project village pumps (Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikivoyage, Wikisource, Wikiquote) for general notifications. Although we've also reached out to the wikipedia-bn mailing list (+1). The endorsement component was initially overlooked because the grant page indicated that endorsements from individuals outside the community would be considered, leading us to omit this step.
