Grants talk:Project/Rapid/AGRIPO/Wiki-agripo 6.0 : edit-a-thons on villages in the North Cameroon

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hello Elns thank you for the incredible work you've been doing on Wiki-AGRIPO 6.0. I am moving this proposal to draft for now to give us an opportunity to chat about 1.0 - 5.0. Would you have time to set up a call this month? I would really like to understand your long term goals before continuing with the funding. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 19:11, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WJifar (WMF). Of course, we can exchange this month as needed. Can we planned a skype meeting by email? --Elns (talk) 21:23, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Elns, yes I will send an email with possible dates. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 19:01, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to Draft[edit]

Hello Elns, I am moving this grant request to draft for now because it is set to start in the new fiscal year. We will be making some changes to our programs in the new fiscal year so once we have finished those conversations you can re-propose it in the new fiscal year after July 1st. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 22:14, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Elns: I apologize to do this again, but due to the load of proposals and limited staffing to review and process Rapid Grants, I will need to move your proposal to draft again. Unfortunately, we have not been able to review proposals as quickly as we would have liked to. You are welcome to readjust the dates and resubmit between now and Feb. 15th for review. @I JethroBT (WMF):Hi Wikimedia team, I update the project with appropriate dates and move it to proposed project. Best regards Elns (talk) 17:27, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from WMF[edit]

Hello Elns, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. I have reviewed it and have the following questions and comments:

  • Since we cannot fund Rapid Grants retroactively, would you please push back your grant start date (February 15) by roughly 20 days to allow time for grant processing?
  • Does AGRIPO (Adeline Flore NGO-SAMNICK) have a nonprofit status in Cameroon? Please confirm it in the probox of the proposal page.
  • Why do you use euros and not Central African CFA franc for your local currency?
  • You mentioned in the proposal that there would be experienced editors supporting your event. Could you please include their Wikimedia usernames on the proposal page?
  • Please consider using the Outreach dashboard to track and monitor the contributions of participants.
  • How are you going to cover the additional expenses from this event?
  • What will you be doing differently this time compared to Wikiagripo 5.0?

Thank you for running this project in Cameroon! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:00, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@ Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thank you for your feedback. Based on your questions and comments:
  • I push back our grant start date (March 15)
  • Yes of course, AGRIPO is a non-for(profit organisation (lead by Adeline Flore NGO-SAMNICK) I add this information in the proposal page
  • I put euros as it is well know currency and it has a stable rate of exchange with Central African CFA franc (XAF). As requested, I add the local currency with the exchange rate with euros
  • In the proposal, I already put the experienced wikimedia usernames editors supporting your event. You can see this information in the paragraph on the people supporting the event
  • Yes, we will consider using the Outreach dashboard to track and monitor the contributions of participants.
  • As mentionned in our proposal, the additionnal expenses will be taken in charge by our organisation as we does during the 5 last wikipedia project including
  • As we are working to find the best methodology and approach to have more results and impacts, usually we try differrent approach and adjust them progressively. The objective is to test many approaches to have the best way to mobilise people. It is we are doing differently this time compared to Wikiagripo 5.0. The Wikiagripo 5.0 is also different of many previous projet

Thank in advance for your feedback --Elns (talk) 15:39, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need updated approval to the project in the context of Covid 19 from WMF[edit]

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), I hope that all is fine for you, your colleagues and families. As activities are begin to run in my country( Cameroon) since 2 months with preventive measures, and as our project do not mobilise more than 10 contributors per event ( we have a serie of 4 events with limited contributor per event), We suggest to realise the project from October 1st to November 30th if you agree I add additional measure for Covid 19 in our project document. Please can you see all these changes to our grant ( dates and Covid preventive measures)? In the risk assessment during Covid 19, it is mentioned that if it is only ten people or less (including the organizing team that will be onsite at the event), then we can follow local health guidelines for our country and go ahead for this type of event. As all documents are previously signed by our team, we just wait for your approval to go ahead on this process. Best regards --Elns (talk) 18:43, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Elns, thanks for posting your request. I have reviewed the changes you've made to the proposal page and approved them. The new grant start date is 1 October 2020, new grant end date — 30 November 2020, with the reporting due date on 30 December 2020. You can now organize the planned in-person gatherings with less than 10 people. Wishing you all the best for your events! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:20, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
