Report accepted and comments[edit]

Hello Elns, thanks for submitting your final report, it has been reviewed and accepted. I have a few questions and comments after reviewing the report:

  • I'm sorry that you didn't upload any photos of the villages and I understand the reason. But I'm glad that participants created 490 new articles about the villages of East Cameroon. Many thanks for your great work!
  • Do you have a project page where you have tracked all contributions and participation? Could you share it in the report page?
  • What are your plans for the future? Do you plan to organize similar projects in the future too?
  • I hear that finding free-use information on rural areas like villages is very complicated. In your next Rapid Fund request, you may want to include some budget to purchase books or other sources that can be used as sources. I also see that using lots of sources for an article can be challenging for newcomers. However, I believe that training this researching skill is very useful and important.
  • I'm sorry that you had to cover some expenses. Currently, the Rapid Fund program can cover up to 5,000 USD.
  • Finally, we changed our policy in April 2021 regarding receipts for Rapid Grants. While grantees are required to maintain their receipts, you are no longer required to send them to us, unless we specifically request them.

Thanks again for your work and dedication! This report is accepted which means that the grant is marked as completed. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:46, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on the report[edit]

Dear DSaroyan (WMF), Thanks for the acceptance of the report. Yes, the project has three pages where we tracked all contributions. The first page is our global Wikivillages page where we have access on all articles on Cameroun: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projet:Wikivillages_du_Cameroun . You can see a spaces on observatory at the end The second page is the page of the category of the village of the region we want to improve. For this project, the category is there: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat%C3%A9gorie:Village_dans_la_r%C3%A9gion_de_l%27Est_(Cameroun) The 3rd page is the wikiscan page. http://fr.wikiscan.org/utilisateur/Elns We use it for each contributor to follow their contribution

Yes, for the future, we plan to organise the similar projects. We began in 2016 to organise projects around the topics of villages of Cameroon https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projet:Wikivillages_du_Cameroun When we began, the Cameroon portal has only 80 articles on villages. Now we have 6 512 articles on villages in Cameroon: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat%C3%A9gorie:Village_au_Cameroun We will continue this projects and hopeffy we will put all villages of cameroun in wikipedia

Yes, finding free-use information on rural areas like villages is very complicated. Thanks for suggestions, we will add purchases of available sources of information in our next Rapid Fund request. The main constrainst will be the availability.

Great news about the possibility to cover some expenses of the Rapid Fund program up to 5,000 USD. It will a very great help

Well noted about the new policy of April 2021 for Rapid Grants. We will only save them if needed.

Thanks for all supports. --Elns (talk) 13:45, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
