@Sayersar: Hello, my name is Chris Schillng, a program officer managing the Rapid Grants program. Apologies for the delay in our review. Thanks for your proposal supporting the Art+Feminism campaign at Ayers Art to support participants in and around residents from Marcellus, Michigan, and I acknowledge that your program may have begun already. Here are my comments and questions regarding the proposal:

  • Unfortunately, we're not able to support your request for expenses related to fiber optic internet installation, for two reasons, 1) the funding limit for Rapid Grants is 2,000 USD, and 2) the grant program is not resourced to support these kinds of infrastructural needs either broadly or equitably, and so requests for these needs are not eligible in this program. I am sorry for this news, as I acknowledge there is a need for better internet connectivity within your community. This will need to be removed from the budget for the proposal to be eligible. If this installation has not taken place, and if it would be supportive, we would be able to fund temporary equipment to support internet connectivity for your events, such as a mobile hotspot. Please feel free to include this in your budget if helpful.
  • We will also need to know the usernames of individuals who will be supporting the edit-a-thon, as we need to ensure that people who are leading events have at least some experience contributing to Wikipedia. Could these usernames be provided?
  • If the above needs can be met, one last item that will need to be changed is the end date for the grant due to some requirements for our grant agreement procedures. You are welcome to set a date much later in March or April, so as to give you sufficient time for our reporting requirements.

Please let me know if you have any questions. With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 04:20, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
