Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Chinmayee Mishra/Odia Wikisource's 3rd anniversary/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hello Chinmayee Mishra thank you for putting this report together. It was great to see you had met and exceeded the target outcome. I am including a couple of follow up questions for you to consider:

  1. How would you work to increase the number of editors in the future? Why do you think this didn’t work so well for this event?
  2. Given the success of this event do you plan to make this a recurring editathon?

I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 16:50, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much WJifar (WMF) for reviewing and accepting the report. I am happy to see your positive response too. Here are some key-points that I want to mention in the answer to your question.

  1. The initial focus of this event was to spread good knowledge and improve skills of the existing contributors as a good awareness of Odia Wikisource. For the future events we can always spread the words more widely and specifically encourage new-comers to join. Though we have shared the news among all this time and tried to encourage new editors to join but hadn’t had many newcomers at the event place.
  2. Yes, The feedback is good regarding this event from all the participants. If community agrees then I will be happy to conduct further editathons. --Chinmayee Mishra (talk) 19:10, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
