Comments from WMF[edit]

Hello Dagbani Wikimedians, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request and for your efforts to translate the MediaWiki interface into Dagbani. I have reviewed the application and have the following comments:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages you mentioned in the proposal?
• The Risk assessment tool link is not accessible. Please change the sharing options, so that it is accessible for everyone with the link.
  • Just to confirm, do you intend to purchase the internet routers mentioned in the detailed budget?

Thanks again, looking forward to your response. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:18, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), Thank you for your comments and questions:
  • I have announced this to all our community groups and mailing lists.
  • The Risk assessment tool link is now accessible for everyone with the link.
  • Yes, we will purchase internet routers for all participants.

Looking forward to the next steps.Thanks. Shahadusadik (talk) 13:38, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shahadusadik, thanks for making the requested changes:
  • I'm sorry but per the Rapid Grants guidelines, any equipment purchase is ineligible for funding. So, I have to request to rent the internet routers or remove this expense from your budget. Please let me know your thoughts. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:26, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well noted. Instead of purchasing, We will rent internet routers and provide data allowance for the 20 participants. I have made the change in the budget table to reflect this. Please let me know what you think. Shahadusadik (talk) 16:41, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Shahadusadik, thanks for your response. We have an additional comment:
Hi DSaroyan (WMF), the offline events will be used to provide training only, and then participants will need to continuously work on the translations throughout the 1-month duration of the project. Regards. Shahadusadik (talk) 11:49, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
