Hello Jaluj, Thank you for your proposal and the amazing work you have been doing through several edit-a-thons. I have a few follow-up questions before we can move forward with this grant.
- Given that you have a track record of putting on these events could you specify in your impact section how many participants you expect for the 2-day edit-a-thon? And if you have a goal of number of articles created or improved?
- Do you see many participants returning to your edit-a-thons or do you always see new people?
- What is the ratio of experienced wikimedians to participants? For 20 participants we think 2 - 3 experienced wikimedians is a good ratio. What do you think?
- Lastly, have you used this dashboard tool to track participants? [1]We have found it very helpful.
Please let me know your answers to these questions so we can proceed accordingly. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 19:02, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks @WJifar (WMF):.
- Due to the big demand that we have in each editathon, we don't accept more than 20 participants. In our experience, each newbie can, hopefully, create one article during the editathon. Yo can see here how many new articles have been created by our working group only in 2017. Basically, our interest is to try to recruit new women editors that stay on wikipedia, so we try to create a good environment and we follow them to support them and help them in their editions. Some of them remain in contact with us and are still editing.
- Our editathons are in very different cities. Córdoba is 800 km from Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata is 800 km from Santa Fe, so we always aim for new editors.
- We are three longterm wikipedians teaching in each editathon.
- No, we haven't. Okey, we will use it.
