Report accepted[edit]

Hello Jnanaranjan sahu, thank you for submitting this final report and apologies for our delayed review. I agree that the Twitter to Commons tool can be really useful when making uploads from Twitter; thank you for your time in developing this tool. After the review of your report I have a few questions.

  • After 6 months since you submitted this report the usage stats of the tools is lower than you had projected. Do you have any explanation for this? Are you planning to do additional outreach to increase the awareness of the tool among different communities?
  • Are you still maintaining and developing the app? Will you add new features in the future?

Thank you again for your work on this tool. I have accepted your final report; this grant is now complete. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:57, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), thank you for your time in reviewing my report.

  • Regarding the projected outcome. Though I have written numbers, but it all depends on the media that has been produced by the twitter handles. Initially I have added 5 handles of Govenrment of Odisha. Those 5 accounts have produced contents but many of them are not within the scope of Wikimedia Commons like news paper cuttings, banners and non useful images. Later I have added more handles whose contents belong to the public domain and hope the content count will increase. Regarding users and awareness I have shared the news in community groups and Wikimedia Discuss. In the starting I have focused users in our local community. As I am extending the tool with more global accounts. I will be sharing the news in more forums like events so that more people come to know. I may need help from other people regarding this. I will also ask community members personally in the next events to engage with the tool. But it all depends on the number of useful media the twitter handles producing.
  • Yes, I am still maintaining (T239191, T228193) this tool. I have also added new features (T243189. T238892) like adding image from single tweet.

The development, maintenance and outreach are ongoing processes and I try my best to continue. Hope in future other users who are using will also create awareness. Please let me know If I need to take any more action on this. Thank You!--Jnanaranjan sahu (talk) 07:48, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
