Comments from DSaroyan (WMF)[edit]

Hello LUCG Community, thanks for submitting a new Rapid Fund request and welcome to Wikimedia Foundation Funds! We are excited about the activities you plan to carry out in the community. We have reviewed the application and have some follow up questions and requests:

  • Could you please provide more information about your group/organizations? What's the relationship between the Global Open Initiative and LUCG Wikimedia Community and how does GOI support you?
  • Could you also tell us a bit about your group history? How was it formed and what does LUCG stand for?
  • How are your group goals different from GOI's goals and how do you avoid overlap between activities?
  • Would you confirm if LUCG Wikimedia Community is a registered NGO in Ghana? If it's not then I request changing the grant type from 'organization' to 'group'.
  • Your project plan seems good. The only request I have is to push back the grant end date, covering all days when you will be making expenses and most of the follow up activities.
  • In terms of the budget, my only request is to rent the router instead of purchasing it. Please update this expense and the total requested amount.
  • Additionally, please confirm that the produced printing materials (banner, stickers, posters, etc.) will be reusable for other activities.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:04, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Replies[edit]

Thanks for getting back to us DSaroyan (WMF). In response to your questions;

  • LUCG has been under the supervision and mentorship of Global Open Initiative since the Parliament of Ghana Editatathons/Contest and has been actively involved ever since.
  • The abbreviation LUCG from LUCG Wikimedia Community stands for Lakeside University College, Ghana, and has been participating in nearly all Wikimedia Projects carried out by Global Open Initiative. A few months ago, the community grew after I introduced new volunteers into the group and we decided that we need to have such kinds of activities frequently on campus, hence, the reason for the Rapid Fund request.
  • Our goals are quite synonymous but after this project, we shall be organizing our events/trainings independently.

Other changes have been made and I can confirm that the printing materials will be reusable for other activities. Sunkanmi12 (talk) 16:49, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Project Date Extension[edit]

I'll like to extend the end date for the project till 5th March 2022 due to the delay in the grant fund. Sunkanmi12 (talk) 10:32, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
