I was really glad I had the opportunity to sit with you and talk to you at WikiIndaba. It's always wonderful to get an opportunity to meet a potential grantee in person. Unfortunately, after reviewing your grant proposal along with our conversation in Tunisia I will not be able to approve your request. The grant amount for the number of people you're hoping to reach is too high. Furthermore, when we discussed in person you stated that this event is in it's fifth year but there seems to be no interest in participating from the Belgian community. It's my understanding that you do not wish to continue doing it next year because of similar reasons. Therefore, given the lack of interest from the community as well as your inclination to discontinue this project we will not fund this project at this time. Hope you will have the chance to work on other projects that will garner more interest from the community and you find fulfilling yourself. - Thanks for this answer WJifar (WMF). Your decision seems to me unexpected after our face to face discussion. Also, the problem is that the two workshops are are already programed and the information already on fr.wikipedia from beginning of March. Some people are already interested also. If WMF don't pay at least the rent of rooms where the two next workshops should be done, we must cancel the two events. If it's really your wish let's do it, if not WMF could pay at least the fees of rental rooms, directly on the bank account of the two organizations. That's better for me. - Hello Lionel Scheepmans I'm sorry that my decision was unexpected to you after our conversation. I'm sorry that you had to cancel programmed events after they're scheduled. I understand that our response time has made your ability to plan ahead difficult and I truly apologize for that. I am working really hard in making my response more timely for all rapid grant requests. Unfortunately, as I stated before we're unable to cover the rental fees for your events at this time.
