Comments from I JethroBT (WMF)[edit]

Hi Walkerma, thanks for your thorough proposal around these activities to help make educational and medical content more accessible in underprivileged parts of the world. I've gone ahead and approved this Rapid Grant, but I did have some comments and a few questions I'd like you to respond to when you are able:

  • Thanks for including the link to http://OFF.NETWORK website to include some of the logistical details, agenda, and anticipated topics and projects that will be covered at the event.
  • Just to clarify, the estimated 30 people will be individuals attending each day of this larger meeting?
  • Is there any need for swag at the event? Feel free to review the requesting swag page for details.

Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 17:53, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've been waiting for things to get clearer; yes, we're anticipating about 30 people coming each day. Most people have committed to housing in order to attend for either 3 or 4 days. We're expecting to lose about 5-10 after Wednesday when some people have told us they are leaving. (That's why we only planned for feeding 20 on the last day in our grant application.) Since we're organizing transport for most attendees (Potsdam, NY doesn't have much public transport), we actually have a very good knowledge of when they're arriving & leaving, even flight times etc. Regarding the "swag", I think it'll be much less important since almost everyone will be coming with their swag fresh from Wikimania. Thanks for mentioning it, though! Walkerma (talk) 05:12, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
