Hi Toresetre, and thanks for this proposal to capture images of performers at concerts and festivals, with a focus on documenting women as performers. I really appreciate you highlighting your past work, and for taking some additional planning steps with regard to choosing festivals that you identified in your last grant. Here some questions and comments I have:

  • In your last grant report, you noted that you wanted to improve how the community is involved with this kind of project. What ideas have you thought about for those improvements for this project?
  • Have you considered working with Wikimedia Norge members or staff in terms of support with metadata and integrating your photos with project content?

Hi I JethroBT (WMF). Thank you for the feedback. To answer your questions:
I've involved the community more this time. Particulary by posting notices, calling for feedback, suggestions and requests for concerts and festivals to cover. The feedback has been moderate, but this is typical for this part of the world. The community is small, and the response will often depend on the personal situation in single contributors. In general I feel that the project has been well welcomed (as the endorsements also show), but actually involvement has been fair.
I've actually not considered leaning on Wikimedia-staff for the project. Partially because I believe this should be community driven and I know that the staff in WMN have many other good initiatives that they can work on. In order to improve the process of implementing the photographs (including metadata) I've extended the project period and set the expectation that this will take 4-6 months to complete. That's fine with me.
I'll apply the USD18 from last year to this years project.
