Hello Jelican9, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We are excited that you are planning to run the Turkic Marathon in 2021! I reviewed your grant application and have two questions about participation and prizes:

  • How many participants do you expect to have for each Turkic community?
  • You’ve had low participation for some communities in 2020, but you have distributed the prize amounts equally. How will you distribute the prize amounts in 2021?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:00, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Hello DSaroyan (WMF). Thanks for your feedback and questions. I will try to answer them accurately and clearly.
  1. We plan to have different numbers in different Wikipedia, which in fact depends on the size of the Wikipedia itself and in addition to the size of the community and activity. In large Wikipedias, we expect more participants (for example, in Turkish: 10-20, Azerbaijani: 10-20, Uzbek: 10-15), and in small ones, fewer (for example, in Tatar: 10-12, Sakha: 5-10).
  1. The standard distribution of funds by Wikipedia's doesn't mean that it will be so until the end. This amount may change in the future from the result obtained. In addition, we will have a special criteria (requirement) for all wikipedia, that must fulfill. Specifically: we will assign a specific number of articles that a contestant must create in order to win and take a specific place. For example: the one, who wants to take the first place must create at least 30 articles. This is a proven method that has worked in many other contests and we think will work in our case.

I hope my answer will help you assess the situation. Kindly, --Jelican9 (talk) 20:40, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
