Comments from WMF[edit]

Hello Nataev and Jamshid Nurkulov, thanks again for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We are glad that you are interested in Wikimedia Foundation grants, and that you've applied for your first grant! I have reviewed your application and have two comments:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wiki (Uzbek Wikipedia)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • Given the limited budget of the Rapid Grants program, we only allow custom T-shirts for judges, organizers, and top contributors. Even though you mentioned that you would offer T-shirts to winners, it looks like you plan to give them to all participants because you’ve budgeted 35 T-shirts while the number of participants you expect is only 15. So please recalculate this number or let me know if I’m missing anything.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 13:47, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, DSaroyan (WMF)! Thank you for reviewing our application. We have been discussing organizing the contest in our Telegram group for quite a while, but were not aware that we were required to have a community discussion in advance. After receiving your feedback, we organized a quick poll and received community approval. Better late than never! Please note that our community is very small – which is precisely why we want to organize this contest. As for the T-shirts, all clear! We have significantly reduced the number of T-shirts we're going to order. Let us know if you have any further questions. Nataev talk 03:59, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

==Funded== Hi Nataev, thanks for your work on this grant proposal. We are happy to approve it and support your project. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:37, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Additional comments[edit]

Hi Nataev, I'm sorry for confusion but I had some some change requests before I could approve your grant request. Prize budget of $600 for a group of 15 participants is too high, especially because winners are also being given merchandise. Please reduce the prize budget to $350 (i.e. 200, 100, 50 for winners). T-shirts can be retained. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:07, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, DSaroyan (WMF)! Fair enough. I've reduced the figures. Hopefully it's not our first grant, and we can request larger amounts in the future. :) Nataev talk 09:02, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Nataev! I also hope that you'll continue your good work and apply for other grants in the future. Please wait for our approval soon. All the best, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:26, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
