Hello Zenith4237, thank you for submitting your grant request. I had a few questions for you:

  1. Can you please list the people who will be traveling and leading the conference?
  2. Can you also let me know how you have estimated the money for food and accommodation?
  3. Lastly, please explain how you're calculating the travel.

Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 10:19, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WJifar (WMF),thank you for your reply:
  1. i have included that under resources
  2. The travel is being calculated per one way trip .For a round trip for two coordinators it comes to four one way trip.
  3. Money for food has been estimated per day for breakfast and lunch

Hi WJifar (WMF), thank you for reviewing my proposal. Let me add to Erina's answers:
  • A one-way ticket from Kampala to Kabale is UGX 30,000. When two people travel to the conference and back to there, that makes UGX 120,000.
  • The money for food and beverages has been calculated as follows:
    • Break tea in the morning for UGX 238,100
    • Lunch for UGX 1,296,000 consisting of UGX 996,000 for the ingredients and UGX 300,000 for labour
    • Refreshments / Snacks for UGX 624,000
At Wikimania 2018 I had and am having some discussions about my project and I concluded to change some things, most importantly I wanted to know if it can work to also have a presenter from outside, as there is still some room to the $2,000 cap. --Zenith4237 (talk) 14:09, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@WJifar (WMF): Hello, I wanted to find out what your thoughts about my idea of someone else supporting the event in person are as this would be highly beneficial to everyone. I was specifically talking to Pigs on the wing, who told me that he would like to attend this event and help training people. --Zenith4237 (talk) 22:20, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Zenith4237, thank you for the reminder ping. If this fits in your budget that should be ok. Please adjust your proposal accordingly and let me know when I can review for approval. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 00:49, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello WJifar, I have updated the proposal accordingly. Thank you. --Zenith4237 (talk) 20:57, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@WJifar (WMF): I updated the amounts, now including the costs of the presenter. --Zenith4237 (talk) 21:42, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Additional funds for unforeseen expenses[edit]

Hello, thank you very much for approving my grant request and for the good communication. I would like to apply for additional funds of $200 (≈ EUR 172.84). I am currently planning everyone's journey to Kabale and am encountering some factors that would go under the heading unforeseen expenses. For example, I did not consider the costs of a Taxi going from the airport in Kigali to the bus station, from where Icem4k will be traveling to Kabale (it's about $18 per ride). This taxi is needed twice for his round trip. As more of these factors combine, I would love to have a financial buffer. Unused funds will, of course, be transferred back. Kind regards, --Zenith4237 (talk) 13:54, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Additional funds approved[edit]

Hello Zenith4237, I am approving your request for additional funds. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 20:59, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. Kind regards, Zenith4237 (talk) 21:01, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! To follow-up on this thread, after submitting the final report and expense documentation from this project, as well as a delayed response by WMF to process the additional funds for the approved unforeseen expenses in time until now, the final amount for WMF to reimburse will be 91.61 EUR of the approved 172.84 EUR. I will be working with Zenith4237 to resolve this oversight and to finally reconcile the grant. Thank you for your patience! Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 19:33, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
