Hi Islahaddow and Anthere, and thanks for your report your outreach work related to the WikiAfrica Schools Colaboratory. Here are my comments:

  • Thanks for providing all the presentation materials and notes used in your workshops-- these were helpful in understanding the structure of your discussions with educators and other professionals, in addition to the kind of feedback and questions you received. It's very good to hear your work in reaching out to individuals from different fields in addition to educators in how to progress your work in education.
  • The first two links for the workshop notes are readable by permission only though-- can these be made open for folks to read, or would you prefer to keep them somewhat private?
  • In terms of closing out the grant, we can approve the use of the remaining USD 218.00 for merchandise and marketing materials/expenses, but because the remaining amount of funds is substantial, we will ask you to both summarize these expenses on this discussion page and provide receipts for these expenses. As before, these receipts can be sent to rapidgrants(_AT_)wikimedia.org. When this documentation is received, we can formally close out the grant. It's OK to keep the grant open, but keep in mind that individuals/groups can only have three (3) open grants at a time between Rapid Grants, Project Grants, and Conference Grants. If you decide not to use the funds, you can send the funds back to us using these instructions. Given these circumstances, how would you like to proceed?

Hi I JethroBT (WMF), thanks for your message and apologies in the delay in replying. This little note is just to let you know that I have asked for quotes on the elements that we are thinking of and will post them to this page once the quotes are back and we have an idea of what is feasible. @Islahaddow: Sounds good. It's fine to take the time you need to gather quotes for these expenses. This is the only open grant you have, this won't delay any review of the Project Grant proposal you have open or disbursement of funds if it is approved. Anyway, post the quotes here when you're ready, and when you have paid for these materials, please be sure to send the receipts to us as well.   • 200 x WikiAfrica Schools 70 mm stickers (round): 1 x Handling Fee @ R30.00 = R30.00 + 25 x A3 Colour Prints @ R15.80 each = R395.00 + Cutting @ R185.00 = R185.00 Total = R610.00 (ex VAT)
  • 250 x WikiAfrica Schools 55 mm badges: 250 x 55mm Button Badges @ R7.15 each = R1 787.50 (ex VAT)
  • VAT: R335,65
  • Total: R2733.15 / USD178.40
