Comments from WMF[edit]

Hi, User:Agbalagba, thank you for all the hard work you put into this grant and Yoruba Wikipedia Offline Awareness Campaign. It’s great to hear that you have reached out to over 5000 people and had over 120 participants. I have reviewed this final report and have the following questions and comments:

  • When reviewing your expense documentation, I noted that some of the receipts were missing. For the future grants, please follow this page in order to document all the details of your grant expenses. For example, for Drums & Drummers expenses, you could prepare a receipt and provide drummers to sign or for Recharge cards expenses you could take a photo of the purchased cards. We will make an exception this time but we will request all expense documentation in the future.
DSaroyan (WMF) Thanks for making an exception this time, We will ensure to do the expenses documentation correctly in the future. Agbalagba TC 15:10, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • In your grant proposal you mentioned that you would organize the campaign and following meeting in one of the listed institutions. Would you please share with us in which higher educational institution have you organized it?
It was organized at w:Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education. Agbalagba TC 15:10, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • We’re excited to know that the institution welcomed your initiative to conduct a follow-up workshop in February 2020. Is there anything else you discussed and agreed on?
We agreed that all students of the department of Yoruba language will participate in the February workshop and a lecturer will be assigned to supervise them with the support of experienced members of the Yoruba Wikipedia Community. We also agreed that a special portal be created on Yoruba Wikipedia where tasks (ranging from articles creation to maintenance) will be assigned to students.
  • It looks like you have had a successful campaign with a lot of music, dances and fun. What were the main massages at your awareness walk? Moreover, could you please provide a link to the category with all photos from your campaign?
In addition to singing and dancing, the president of the Yoruba department was chanting Ewi which contains among other thing, this statement "Wa darapo mo Yoruba Wikipedia ni www.yo.wikipedia.org nibi ti o ti le ka ayoka ofe ti o si lee bawa ko mo ayoka ti o wa nile" English translation: "Come and join Yoruba Wikipedia (www.yo.wikipedia.org) where you can read articles freely and also contribute". The category you requested is here c:Category:Yoruba Wikimedians awareness campaign. Agbalagba TC 15:10, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I see that you used the old Wikipedia logo on your poster. Please consider using the new version of the logo on your future outreach materials.
Noted with thanks. Agbalagba TC 15:10, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
