Hello Dimi_z,
Thank you for your request. We can see that your expertise in the subject area would bring value to this event, however we are not able to fund your request based on the criteria explained in the Travel and Participation Support page.
Please note that the meetings with WMF staff aren't eligible for TPS funding. Consequently, this decision was made only with respect to your proposed participation in the RightsCon event. As a rule, the committee favors requests for regional travel over international travel unless the proposed outcomes and impact described in the request are exceptionally strong. In this case, the level of participation described (generalized networking and panel participation) is on the passive end of engagement types common to TPS requests. Therefore, the proposed outcomes and potential impact do not sufficiently justify the higher investment cost of an international request.
We welcome future requests from you that may be a better fit and wish you all the best in your future work.
