Grants talk:TPS/SarahStierch/Museum Computer Network

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hi Sarah, thanks a lot for your request.

You write that "first and foremost, the goal is to participate and present successfully." - in my opinion this is not a goal but a method or tool. The goals could be drafted a bit more precise, would you mind elaborating them?

You also add that the event will be useful for seeking employment opportunities. Although we support those personal goals in the sense that we consider the potential for participation to build the capabilities of volunteers this goal is not our emphasis, and it would be nice if you add merit other than this.

Thanks, --Nicole Ebber (WMDE) (talk) 19:20, 23 October 2012 (UTC)In case you wonder why I am asking those questions: I am now the contact person at WMDE for this support programme. :) Done SarahStierch (talk) 20:02, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That was fast, thank you. I now have another question to add: Have you been in touch with the organizers about the option for a free conference ticket for speakers? Best, --Nicole Ebber (WMDE) (talk) 20:14, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I did inquire and they do not offer free tickets for presenters at this conference. I was able to get a discounted emerging museum professional ticket though, at $200, and an additional $50 taken off of that - it's usually $250 for EMPs. I did originally apply for a scholarship for the conference, but, it sadly myself, and Lori, both did not receive them! SarahStierch (talk) 21:05, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
