Online meeting of Karavali Wikimedians User Group (KWUG) members. The Karavali Wikimedians and Tulu Wikimedians are collaboratively launching a comprehensive documentation project focused on preserving and promoting the living heritage of the Tuluvas during the Aati month. This project aims to capture and document various aspects of Tulu culture, including rituals, traditions, games, food, and other related elements. The collected materials will be presented in the form of videos, audio recordings, photographs, and detailed articles on Wikimedia platforms.

  • Each and every person actively participated in the discussion.
  • Vishwanatha Badikana provided an overview of the project activities, including the process for conducting pre-documentary surveys, the various types of media used, and the specific areas we are covering for documentation.
  • Vasanth S N suggested segregating and listing the articles related to the Aati Month, such as those on medicine, utensils, and folk items. He emphasized the importance of properly documenting living heritage and recommended including community-based food item documentation.
  • Pavanaja stressed the importance of preserving Tulu heritage on Wikimedia Commons and highlighted the effective use of social media platforms for this purpose.
  • Diva Kokkada suggested that documenting on a local basis would be more effective for capturing the nuances of the culture.
  • Vinodh Mamatha expressed interest in participating in documenting the Tulu culture in the Kasaragod area.
