Expression of Interest: Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025

[edit]

Dear User,

I hope you are doing well. We are pleased to inform you that the Open Knowledge Initiative team at IIIT-H is organising an event called Advanced Train the Trainer. The Expression of Interest is already open for submissions, and we encourage you to apply if you are interested or haven't applied yet. The deadline to submit your Expression of Interest has been extended until 26 August. The Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025 will be held on 10, 11, and 12 October 2025 at IIIT-Hyderabad. Wikimedians from India will be a part of the event.

ATTT is designed for experienced Wikimedians, particularly those who have previously participated in Train the Trainer. The program aims to develop further their leadership, thematic expertise, and practical application skills. The training will be conducted in two thematic tracks:

  • Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling – Learn to measure, analyse, and narrate the impact of Wikimedia initiatives through hands-on labs and peer feedback.
  • Project Design: From Learning to Action – Work on a 3-month project with mentoring and planning tools, turning learning into impactful, context-driven initiatives.

Note: If you are unsure about which track to choose, please still submit your application by answering the questions thoroughly. Our team will review it and assign you to the most suitable track. If you are not comfortable applying directly on Meta, you may send your proposal (using the Meta template and with a valid reason) to nitesh@research.iiit.ac.in. If selected, the OKI team will publish it on Meta on your behalf.

We look forward to receiving your applications and working together to shape impactful Wikimedia leadership!

Regards,

Open Knowledge Initiatives Team

Request to unblock my account

Unblock request granted

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, and one or more administrators has reviewed and granted this request.

Request reason: Hello. I would like to request that this block be reviewed. I am not sure why my account or IP address has been blocked. The block page shows Block ID #804280. I am a professor at my st aloysius university and teach students as part of our Wikipedia club. Multiple students and I contribute to Wikimedia projects using the university network, so we share the same public IP address. If this block is the result of another user's actions or an autoblock affecting our shared network, I would be grateful if you could review it and consider lifting the block for my account or IP. I understand the need to prevent abuse and appreciate the work that administrators do to protect Wikimedia projects. If you need any additional information from me, I would be happy to provide it. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Unblock reason: Sorry for the inconvenience, this was part of a larger wave of false positives which have been reversed. EPIC (talk) 08:29, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

At first, I was prepared to say absolutely not, based on the block reason. It does appear, however, that you've (at least attempted to?) redeemed yourself cross-wiki, which leads me at least to consider this, based on the successful unlock and seeming to try and come back in good faith. @Infinite0694: You were the original blocking admin. Do you have objections to this? EggRoll97 (talk) 19:08, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Is there a link to the LTA investigation specific to metawiki here for peer review? — xaosflux Talk 15:46, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
As far as I can tell, there is not. Of interest may be Special:CentralAuth/Santhosh Notagar, the former main account. Infinite may have a link to some form of investigation, perhaps? EggRoll97 (talk) 19:44, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hmm yes, if there is new socking, that is against the 'one account' lock appeal previously granted and this may need more than a block. — xaosflux Talk 12:48, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I believe my Meta-Wiki account may have been blocked unintentionally during a mass blocking action on 2026-07-03, and I respectfully request that the administrators review my case.
Along with my account, user:Cookai1205 and user:MediaWikiAccountBackfiller were also blocked. The MediaWiki backfiller account was later unblocked, which leads me to believe that my account may also have been blocked by mistake. anyway i dont have any connection with these accounts or any blocked accounts here.
I coordinate a Wikipedia student club at my university, where we train students to contribute constructively to Wikimedia projects. As part of this work, I monitor newly created student accounts to guide them and ensure they follow Wikimedia policies. Since we all work from the university campus, many of us use the same university IP address. However, these are independent student accounts created for educational purposes, and none of the students are involved in abuse or vandalism.
I kindly request that my Meta-Wiki account be unblocked so that I can continue my Wikimedia-related activities and educational work at the university.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Santhosh Notagar99 (talk) 15:42, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
