Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat/Archives/2009-12

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Would like a decision on the following items

The above two were propsed for closing more few monthes ago. Community has responsed with strong opposition. The notics are in top of these and some other projects. It is time to close the discussion, and remove the notices. --Natkeeran 00:23, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

That's not the work of an admin/crat. Please ask the LangCom. They're responsible for this. Thanks --Barras 08:54, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Nope, it can be closed by a non involved user, it isn't a task for the LangCom. Huib talk 16:02, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
What do you mean? We want the notices to be removed, and the to reach a conclusion. Majority (80%) want these projects to continue. See the reasons in the discussion pages. --Natkeeran 01:36, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

<-- I was bold and closed them both after reading all the discussion and taking a look at the projects myself. My understanding of the closure process is that this is completely acceptable. I will put a note on the Steward Noticeboard asking one of them to remove the site notices since they do not have active admins. I am also going to attempt to find an appropriate location on the projects to post a note to let them know the discussion has been closed as well (unless Natkeeran wishes to do so). Bambi Block

Would love a quick block for Nvadertim777 as a Bambifan101 sock based on editing pattern. Jamesofur 17:11, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Done - Nvadertim7 = Nvadertim777 = Bambifan101. Blocked indef. thanks for reporting, Jamesofur.

global templates?

The talkback template, along with many others, could be useful at any wiki, but is absent, for example, at Wikiversity; can it be made global? q0k 01:15, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

We do not, to my knowledge, have Scary Transclusion enabled. You would either need to transwiki it or copy-and-paste-with-attribution. Kylu 01:22, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Sock puppeteer voting in arbcom EN wiki

This user has voted, and is linked to several abusive sock puppet accounts, in the En wiki arb com elections. Dunno if this is the right place to post or no [1]. Cheers--Die4Dixie 04:31, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

No, it's not, you want to post at w:WT:ACE2009, Meta admins have no power over enwiki. MBisanz talk 07:49, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
