Proposal summary
Please read the handbook for requesters for help using this template correctly.

After some initial discussion on the Czech Wikipedia, Wikiversity in the Czech language has been founded on Beta Wikiversity. It's being incubated there for several months. Within the time Main page and general structure was build up and we started to make also real educational courses, projects and other units. Also a seedling of Czech Wikiversity community has been risen. The aim of Wikiversity is to offer a free e-learning units and research, but also serve such as experimental environment for new ideas how education can be organized and performed within MediaWiki software. Czech Wikiversity community would like to cover all ages of the society: pre-school, children education, young adult, university and life long; including research projects. The Czech version might be useful in filling up a gap on the level of e-learning education in the Czech Republic. There is also a lack of educational resources/courses at grammar schools, where we might help and fully fulfill one of the main aims of Wikimedia Foundation to spread information and free knowledge.

Účastníci projektu Wikiverzita by rádi pokryli v rámci e-learningu všechny věkové skupiny: předškolní výuka, děti, mládež, univerzitní výuka, celoživotní vzdělávání a v neposlední řadě se věnovali i výzkumu.

Arguments in favour[edit]

  1. Support --Juan de Vojnikov 12:42, 31 October 2006 (UTC) - Good project for the far future.[reply]
en: Good point Erkan. I see the importance of the project in filling up of the gaps in e-learning within the Czech Republic, as the majority of Czech speakers are situated in here. Few years ago and action programme "Internet for Schools" was done within grammar schools. The results were, that at this time all grammar schools have acces to the internet, but unfortunately no conception what to do with internet and how to use it in education wasnt design. Here Wikiversity can help much. Currenty there several schools (especialy Universities) where Moodle is avialable, but unfortunately just a few of them are fully integrated with this tool. Moreover moodle serve just like an organisation of "realtime" education, on the other hand Wikiversity is more like about e-learning, education via internet. There is the big advantage of the software which can be supported by extansions. Also big advantage is that it can be connected with other projects and millions of media can be use easilly. I am personaly prepare to support the development of the project by editing friendlier environment for new participants and developing its conntent. So in general I shoud say that my signature in fevour is here, because of importance of the project for Czechs

  8. Support --Reaperman@cswiki 15:54, 19 November 2006 (UTC) I still support it, even as I have some doubts of number of contributors and not done projects there. On the other hand, there are some good ideas and well made projects. I think the biggest problem of Czech Wikiversity is that only a few people really know about it. So if it has its independent domain it could be only better. --Reaperman 17:24, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  11. Support Hello, I came over the mailinglist - unfortunately I don't speak the language to contribute much. But I know at least 2 supporters from regular chats. Also one of them contributes regularly to en.WV and am sure he can be with his experience a support for the future cs.WV. cs.WP has about 35167 users so there might be some people interested to also join cs.WV since there are some things allowed which are not at WP, e.g. original research. I hope when cs.WV is created there could be done more collaborations with other wikimedia projects (e.g. cs.WB has just 401 users). WV is also about learning projects, so we could use other projects materials to contribute to our learning. And while doing that help each other, e.g. review pages/articles/books ... btw: I am not sure, but the title says: "Arguments in favour". I hope people don't see this as pure voting. Simple votes could be ignored in accordance with the Language proposal policy. ----Erkan Yilmaz (Wikiversity:Chat, wiki blog) 16:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

General discussion[edit]

I would like to participate in both studying and teaching, but non-native Wikiversity language versions are useless for me.--Juan de Vojnikov 12:42, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

@Timichal, Zirland, Ragimiri: so what do you fell that is "enought number of participants"? If youll look up the statistics, you can find out that there were more than 10 people active.--Juan de Vojnikov 19:20, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but if I look e. g. on Program:Informatika, I cannot be keen for it. --Ragimiri 13:34, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well yeah, this is one of the let say "stubs" of Czech Wikiversity. But there are stubs everywhere (Wikipedia --> [1], Wikislovník --> [2] a mnoho dalších versus [3], Wikiknihy --> [4], [5]) So you probably mean, that with this number of participants we will not be able to offer the programme: Informatika. I should agree, yeah we will not be able within first few years to manage it probably. It needs lots of skilled people. But wikiversity is not here to copy universities. We are going to offer projects, lessons and courses, which we can manage with a smaller number of participants. And then after some time (month, years) when courses will be done, we can make a programmes from them. Study programme on wikiversity is just recomended sequence of subjects.--Juan de Vojnikov 14:20, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

--Ragimiri 19:03, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
1. Zatímco stylově neutální tvary jsou univerzita a diskuse, universita a diskuze nejsou. 2. Tedy nelze, aby jeden projekt měl ns diskuse a druhý ns diskuze.
