Where is this event?[edit]

@Juliakamin(cs): location please Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:08, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Bluerasberry:, the event is being held at Stockholm's City Conference Centre, Folkets Hus: Barnhusgatan 12-14, Conference Room 300. Participants should have received an email with the location and a number of other details. Please let me know if you did not receive! Thanks, --Juliakamin(cs) (talk) 19:54, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I found it. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:13, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wish for documentation[edit]

As a wiki researcher I have a need to demonstrate the various things I do to make my research more ethical and safer for the wiki community.

I expect that documentation will be part of the event, but just the same, I want to express my wish for more documentation about what we do at this event and why we do it. If the documentation existed, then I would reference it in my research with credit to CivilServant for the support. If less documentation exists then I have less opportunity to showcase this collaboration. Thanks - when I come to the event I am ready to take shared notes to publish on wiki for everyone's mutual benefit. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:12, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

At the moment the only documentation we have regarding the event is this Meta page. If you have suggestions or models of the kinds of documentation that may be useful to you and other attendees, please let us know. We can see what we can pull together.
And thank you for volunteering to help take shared notes on the day's event. I will talk to the team about what might be the most useful way to organanize material - but if you have suggestions, they will be warmly welcome. Thanks! — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Juliakamin(cs) (talk) 20:03, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
One option for notetaking is the Wikimedia Foundation's etherpad service.
This is easy, familiar, open software, and anyone can join in taking open notes. After review the custom is to copy/paste these to a more public archive.
Alternatively I could join in a Google Doc if you guys designate one.
My interest in this is to collect and share as much community feedback as possible. I anticipate that many wiki researchers either have or will have similar challenges and any record of discussing these challenges is very helpful as a response to them. All sounds good. If you think Google Docs are something that Wikipedians are used to working with, I think what may work is to create a shared folder for the event that can be public to all and that gives participants in the summit the ability to contribute to shared notes. (This is something similar we did at a much smaller summit last year.) The folder can contain the agenda, participants (who want to add themselves), notes on each sessions, etc. Let me know if you have other thoughts. I'll share them all with our team.
