Using the CampWiz Tool[edit]

Dear All,

I hope you are doing well. As many of you already know, this year, Wiki Loves Folklore has had a collaboration with Project Korikath Technical Team and created a toolkit consisting of two tools for the sake of this editathon. One is to find the list of missing articles about feminism and folklore in your local language (Article List Generator) and the other one is for managing the editathon itself (CampWiz). We believe that the CampWiz tool has some features that aren't available in the current wikimedia ecosystem:

  1. Statistics: This tool was designed with modern advanced software framework and have a vast amount of data collection (not personal data) database. Therefore, it generates near realtime statistics and progress of each editathon including how many articles were newly created, how many were expanded, how many new users was signed up to participate in this editathon and lot more.
  2. Performance: As the tool is hosted on a dedicated server, the tool is very performant, responsive.
  3. Complete Control: As previously mentioned, the tool is hosted on a dedicated server we have complete control. The tool's data is backed up daily at 00:00 UTC automatically. Therefore, if anything happens, the tool is not prone to data loss.
  4. Custom Statistics: As having direct access to the tool's database, we can perform complex query into the database and create very custom and cimplex statistics upon request.
  5. Sustainability: As the tool is hosted by an organization, not an individual, the tool is sustainable and maintainable if anything happens otherwise. These are only some of the extra features. This tool also has almost all the features that that you need including leaving a rejection note to the participant explaining how to improve the article.

The more you use, the more mature the tool would be due to testing and it would prove the tool to be a success. We tried to make the tool very intuitive and user friendly, therefore you can learn the tool just by exploring it and making test campaigns on the following link: https://tools.wikilovesfolklore.org/campwiz We are in the process of making a manual for this tool. Untill the manual is complete, please feel free to ask any question on any platform to us.

Just a heads up, please do not host an editathon on several platforms at the same time. It would confuse the participants regarding where to submit their articles. That would skew the results and statistics. It might also make the judge miserable having to evaluate on several platforms. You are free to choose any tool that fits your need. It's never mandatory to use any particular tool.
