PowerPoint[edit]

What's the point of giving PowerPoint-specific instructions? And if they're interoperable resources, why advertise a specific proprietary product? --Nemo 21:41, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I forgot to say: if the point was to help people make slides, http://www.slidescarnival.com/ is a useful resource. --Nemo 10:20, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Nemo, thank you for sharing your concerns here. We are not promoting a proprietary product. PowerPoint is mentioned as a tool that anyone can use to make a poster. So is LibreOffice. I changed the text now, and both software solutions are mentioned twice. No, the point is not to help people make slides. We share the link to templates that can be used on PowerPoint because they are good poster templates. The goal is to make a poster. I'm sorry this wasn't clear to you from reading the section, which is called Posters. If you find another link with free templates to create posters, please go ahead and add it to the list of resources. Thank you! María (WMF) (talk) 23:50, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
