Apologies[edit]

Question[edit]

Will there be free beer? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.178.205.206 (talk • contribs) .

Some friendly people at the meetup sometimes offer others free drinks, however other than that it is a pub like any other, and beer is available to buy. CT Cooper · talk 21:23, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question 2[edit]

Why on earth go here when on the same street you have much better pubs? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.178.205.206 (talk • contribs) .

If it was widespread opinion that this pub was far inferior from other pubs on the same street then it would be unlikely to still be in business. The general story I've received on why we always go to the same pub is that attempts to go elsewhere have been disastrous. It is also conveniently close to the British Museum and a WiFi is a must. However, the main meetup organiser, James Forrester might be open to suggestions on alternative venues. CT Cooper · talk 21:23, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
'Tis also cheap; 'twas smoke-free long before required; and allows in Wikimedians under 18. And the beverages are relatively cheap. Tom Morris 20:23, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question 3[edit]

Ok, you've answered both questions to my satisfaction, although I can't attend. My third question - why am I not logged in? I have a universal login. 86.178.205.206 18:57, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Go to a wiki in which you are logged-in, go to my preferences, and check your global account status. There might be an unattached account on Meta which is not currently part of your global log-in. To check myself I will need your account name. CT Cooper · talk 14:55, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you guys have fun[edit]

Aargh, I'd like to eventually turn up to a meetup, just to meet other editors and have a nice day out. I'm busy with uni though. :( We'll see, but if I can't come on Sunday, maybe another day ;) Londonsista 00:24, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There'll be one next month too. —Tom Morris (talk) 17:02, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
