No data for July 2nd
Today, it seems no data for July 2nd is available. I waited for some hours, but it still gives no data. Best wishes, --Thomas Dresler (talk) 14:56, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- My experience. Local time is 00:00 and UTC 22:00 before day – None data for last full day. New data is available at 8:00 local (6:00 UTC) in the morning. If none count in graph, then count view is zero.

Summation
I am suggesting a feature that would graph the sum of values of pages that are requested. Catchpoke (talk) 21:35, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Add Nias and Madurese Wikipedia
Hi @MusikAnimal and Kaldari:, I always loved to use this tools. One of my favourite is to get insight from different wikipedia in one place which perfect using this tools. I would loved to add another wiki which not yet presented in this tools. Such as Nias and Madurese Wikipedia which already present from January 2021 and displayed in WikiStats directly but not in Pageviews analysis, but don't know where to start. Can you help me with this? Thanks in advance. Joseagush (talk) 13:46, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Joseagush Done! Sorry for the long wait. I have to manually sync the production allow-list with Pageviews Analysis, unfortunately. One day I hope to automate this process. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 21:46, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
Sometimes the Pageviews tab doesn't match the Massviews tab
Here is an example for the page for Tom and Jerry (2021 film).
The total page views do not match.
For data up to 7/14/2021, the Pageviews tab the total page views is 2,051,818 but for the Massviews tab the total is 647,945. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2603:7000:2541:4b98:c1d8:eaf4:2664:d18a (talk)
- These are two different pages. The first is Tom & Jerry (2021 film) (the target article), and the second is Tom and Jerry (2021 film) which is a redirect to the former, hence why it has fewer pageviews. You can automatically include redirects in the main Pageviews tool by using the "Include redirects" option on the left, or go to Settings and choose "Always include redirects". This functionality is not available in Massviews for performance reasons. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 21:27, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
"No data found" on deleted pages
Whenever I try to view the page views of a deleted page, it says the data is not available, even though it is.

Carles Puidgemont gets a massive amount of hits on fi, en, sv, de Wikipedias
I've been following the top pages of Finnish Wikipeda and have been confused to see Carles Puidgemont as one of the top pages from day to day - while our media is not talking about him. For example in July his article was number 8! I studied further and saw that the hits come from automation, see [3]. The same is happening in Swedish, English, Spanish, German and Italian Wikipedia as well. Probably there are more affected languages, maybe all of them? So how to correct the situation? Could automated hits be dropped from the Topviews report or at least make an exaption with his article (to show only user hits for it)? --Jjanhone (talk) 09:45, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jjanhone: You can show only a people. Look link. Look options at Agent (a left menu + bottom). ✍️ Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 11:24, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, this is for a certain article but I meant the top pages, this: [4].--Jjanhone (talk) 16:10, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jjanhone See the FAQ. The Topviews data does not include hits from the "Automated" agent, only the "User" (i.e. humans). But sometimes bots change their digital fingerprint to appear as if they are human, and that is most surely what is happening here based on comparing "Desktop" versus "Mobile web" in the main Pageviews tool. Note in Topviews you can use the "Show mobile percentages" option to help identify the false positives.
- You can report this on Phabricator as a pageviews anomaly, and the Analytics and Product Analysis teams or volunteers may investigate it, but there's no guarantee. This one seems more widespread so it may attract some attention. I can remove it from Topviews when I have time but frankly I've grown fatigued from maintaining the data. These sort of false positive happen frequently. I need to introduce a system so that other trusted users can help clean up the data. Until then, I'm hoping end users will use the available tools to deduce the authenticity of questionable pages in the Topviews reports. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 04:27, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks MusikAnimal! I've forwarded it: [5]. And thanks for maintaining the tool, I use it almost daily and my Twitter followers love the top lists I share them. For a small country & language it's precious - we now what the country is interested about. --Jjanhone (talk) 07:09, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Deploying Stats to a Private Wiki
I would like to deploy this tool on a private Wiki. Any pointers on how to go about this? zimwi — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gachangi (talk) 12:34, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
- My idea (I'm not a author of this addon) is that this is a frontend to the Wikimedia REST API.
- As API, u must analyse the web server log and to filter users and bots request.
- Next way is to have a pagewiev add-on for software Wikipedia (Ex. the count of loading page).
- --Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 18:38, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- From my understanding, the API that powers the tool was custom-built for Wikimedia stack. It would be extremely difficult (but probably not impossible) to get it to work on an external wiki. Further to that, the Pageviews Analysis tool makes many other Wikimedia-specific assumptions, so it would take a lot work to make it compatible with non-Wikimedia wikis. Sorry!
