Pairing with Wiki Edu's Dashboard[edit]

Hi, Sage (Wiki Ed). How are you? Is there a control for features that have been deployed on Wiki Edu's Dashboard and are not part of the Programs & Events Dashboard yet? To know the difference would help me make a more informed contribution to the survey. Moreover, you might want to know we have developed a new tool for wikicontests, as we were increasingly unable to use the Dashboard for wikicontests --it is not mostly used for contest subscription as automated wiki edits are available on pt.wikipedia and pt.wikiversity. All the best! --Joalpe (talk) 16:48, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Joalpe: Hello! I don't have a comprehensive list of features that are only on Wiki Education Dashboard, but the biggest ones are:
  • the Assignment Design Wizard for populating a Timeline based on a series of choices
  • collecting real name and email when a user first logs in
  • a large suite of automated emails that go out to instructors (mainly) at different points during a course or in response to things like plagiarism alerts
  • a ticket system that emails Wiki Education staff about many different alerts
  • a Get Help button on course pages that lets instructors and students ask for help about something (which creates a ticket and emails the relevant Wiki Education staff member)
  • Salesforce integration so that stats for each course are automatically added to a corresponding course record in Salesforce
Some of the these features aren't feasible to enable on P&E Dashboard, but could be enabled for a standalone dashboard for a particular organization (as part of the "Dashboards-as-a-service" idea that we plan to pilot this year, basically setting up a new Dashboard website for use by a single org). Thanks for letting me know about the wikiconcursos tool! Is it something you have plans to support in the long term and/or internationalize? Adding features in the Dashboard for contests is something that is a possibility, but not one we've taken in steps towards or done much research on yet. Alternatively, it might be a use case where it makes sense to connect the Dashboard to another tool that can be used in parallel (or something that just doesn't make sense for the Dashboard to do).--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:22, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Sage (Wiki Ed): Thanks for the info. This is very helpful, as it provides an understanding of what is already out there. Collecting real names for education programs would be my first priority! On the Wikiconcursos tool, perhaps we could demonstrate what it does to see if indeed it makes sense to connect to the Dashboard. We are intertwining the Dashboard and the wikiconcursos tool in this case, when the Dashboard is used for registration only. In another context, we are also developing a tool to check more easily if a student has done their expected task when there is a sequence of tasks to be accomplished in order to get a certificate, in this case. It is again linked for registration and now task control with the Dashboard. By the way, did I tell you we have deployed Dashboard automated edits on pt.wikiversity? Thanks for all you do! --Joalpe (talk) 17:31, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging organizers of active campaigns[edit]

So far, we have 51 responses to the survey, which I think is a solid response rate. I'm going to remove the banner soon, but I'd like to get more responses from campaign organizers. I've compiled the usernames listed as campaign organizers for all the campaigns that have more than 5 events on the Dashboard and that have had an event created within the last 18 months, and I'll ping them here.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:03, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
