Talk:WikiFundi/2021

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Scope[edit]

@Anthere: Can you take a look at the recent contributions of Special:Contributions/Tonygarfume? Unsure if they're within scope so your input is much appreciated. Even if within scope, I believe that copying directly from eswp is not allowed. --Minoraxtalk 12:35, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well... four comments
-Antoni is working with me to create the WikiFundi content for WikiFundi in Spanish. So I am aware of what he is doing
-In that particular case (copying articles content from Spanish to meta), I asked him to stop because it will not be helpful. We need the content of those articles, but those are used to allow "swallowing" the templates being used within them. Swallowing can work if the articles are on the Spanish Wikipedia, but it can not work when the articles are on meta. I told Antoni so, and normally he will not further transfer articles. When the articles will be on WikiFundi, we will add all the appropriate credit stuff as well.
-In an ideal world, this work would be prepared on the Spanish space. When I did the French WikiFundi, I did it on the French Wikipedia Project space and no one complained. When I did the English WikiFundi, I did it on the English Wikipedia Project space and no one complained. Unfortunately, I have been informed by the Spanish community that I was not welcome to work to set up the WikiFundi pages on the Spanish Wikipedia. So I moved the coordination of the project on meta instead. I can understand that coordination of a project is not within scope of Wikipedia. But unless wrong, meta is THE space where we can coordinate. Right ?
-Last... let's remind that all wikipedia content is under a free licence. Which allows reuse, transfer, modification and so on. Just in case. Anthere (talk) 11:04, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Noted, thanks for clarifying. --Minoraxtalk 12:20, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
