Suggestion

I think to the list to be added is for conferences that we organise ourselves and create an overview of the vegan options for lunch/dinner (etc) in the neighbourhood. At Wikimania we had to look a lot to find a good vegan place. Also it was until the Monday after Wikimania before I found a great vegan lunch site, would have loved to know it earlier. Sustainability Initiative

The Sustainability Initiative is a project to make Wikimedia projects sustainable.

I just posted at Talk:Sustainability_Initiative#Wiki_Loves_Vegan the suggestion of a partnership between the Sustainability Initiative and Wiki Loves Vegan. I think that these two projects should partner because veganism is a lifestyle choice for a sustainable future. Also, the Sustainability Initiative is a big project with many parts, and currently does not mention food. Wiki Loves Vegan would benefit from being part of a larger sustainability effort.

Ratings

I was thinking to start a lot of Wiki event ratings here on this page. For sample ratings I was thinking of this -

• Fail - on at least one occasion, this event served food to some people without offering a comparable vegan option to others
• Pass - on all occasions, whenever this event served food it offered a vegan option to everyone

Do we need additional detail? Should we rate events beyond this?

I was thinking to apply this to any major wiki events I attend and also encourage others to report back. Covered events could include Wikimania, the Wikimedia Conference / Wiki Summit, or whatever other big conferences happen anywhere in the world. Operating under Wikimedians for Sustainable Development

Wikimedians for Sustainable Development is a proposed Wikimedia movement affiliate which seeks to promote sustainability in and through Wikipedia projects.

I listed Wiki Loves Vegan as an initiative of this project. Administration of a group is challenging and I feel that my positioning vegan advocacy as a part of sustainability, we get a larger community and more prominent voice. Also, the sustainability group needs us, because sustainable food practices are a core of their overall mission. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:21, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
