Comments[edit]

There are numerous already existing Wikimedia projects that would benefit: Wikispecies, Wiktionary, Wikipedia:Persondata, Wikipedia:Geodata, ... see Wikidata#Wikipedia_Projects for more details. Current techniques to extract the already existing data use database dumps (requires advanced technical skill) and webscrapers (innefficient, drain ressources) --Matthias 13:43, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Restart[edit]

since this looks quite dead to me (and i have not found anything else), i want to know wo else is interested in this so we can relaunch it.

Restart futile?[edit]

It's futile to try to restart this as long as there's nobody who actually does the programming of the code. --::Slomox:: >< 19:14, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

we can not find someone that will write the code unless we do know what code he needs to write. Elvis 09:36, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
--::Slomox:: >< 01:17, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
gut. dann sehen wir zumindest ähnliche probleme. Elvis 13:47, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to give a second chance to that idea please contact this project (sorry in french but you can let me a message on my talk page (fr:Discussion_utilisateur:Snipre) in english or in german) Snipre 12:00, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox Wizard[edit]

Well, here is another approach to the same problem - for a showcase see [1]. Even if your German is as as bad as my Chinese you should be able to get the idea of Infobox Wizard. Try the lists on chemistry http://demian:60300/dewiki/index.php/DL_Chemikalien or minerals: http://demian:60300/dewiki/index.php/DL_Mineralien

Please let me know (on my discussion page) how you think about it. --Algorithmix 18:46, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What is WikiData?[edit]

From what I can tell, WikiData is exactly what I'm looking for: a method for accessing standardized Infobox data as, well, data. But I can't find anything on WikiMedia (or anywhere else) that explains what WikiData is. (Rather ironic that a wiki article about part of MediaWiki doesn't actually discuss what it is).Edwardmking 12:56, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I propose the removal or modification of the section scionline.org, because the site is not currently what it is said to be in the section, but a place loaded with ads (see their "privacy policy").  Hazard-SJ  ±  20:27, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
