User language box translation
[edit]Hello Slomox. Thank you very much for translating {{user language}}. The template has recently been changed to add two new levels, 0 and 4 (see detailed descriptions). Please update Template:User language/nds:
- 0: this user cannot read or write Plattdüütsch.
- 4: this user can contribute at a near-native level in Plattdüütsch. —{admin} Pathoschild 00:14:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. :) —{admin} Pathoschild 02:33:32, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
the language policy has a defined way of assessing a language
[edit]Hoi, It is plain, when a language is accepted as such by the ISO-639-3, a language is eligible. When you object for whatever reason, you get into the notion of POV and POV pushing. The current method is objective and observable. Thanks, GerardM 09:10, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm indeed pushing a POV, the "fact POV", and the POV of the language proposal policy, which says: The language must be sufficiently unique that it could not coexist on a more general wiki. Please comment on this (on the proposal page). --::Slomox:: >< 12:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Westfalian
[edit]Hoi, for your information, you can continue to argue and vote and stuff. It does not work that way; when the status is eligible we read opinions but we do not care for votes any more. Thanks, GerardM 21:30, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- What do you want to say? --::Slomox:: >< 22:15, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

re: Suggestion for etymologyReader enhancement
[edit]Hello Slomox. I just archived my talk page; quoted below is my answer to your recent question. —Pathoschild 01:45:46, 05 February 2009 (UTC)
I noticed at http://pathos.ca/tools/etymologyreader/index.php?example=1 that it does not expand the character string "equiv." to "equivalent". Most readers probably do understand the meaning of both of those strings, so perhaps it would not be a "big" improvement. So I am just suggesting that you consider that feature -- and you decide whether to actually "add" that feature. -- Mike Schwartz (talk) 06:46, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion; it should substitute it now. —Pathoschild 19:49:24, 01 February 2009 (UTC)
THANK YOU! -- Mike Schwartz (talk) 21:17, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Just by chance I saw this and clicked on the link to see what's the tool about. And I found a tiny error: c. is expanded to circa. But I'm pretty sure it means compare in the context G Angst fear, anxiety, OHG angust (c. MLG angest, MD anxt). --::Slomox:: >< 18:55, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Also fixed; thanks. —Pathoschild 00:10:41, 05 February 2009 (UTC)
