Some notes[edit]

Notes by VIGNERON * discut.

  • 29 peoples in the room, most already did workshops but not all
  • no need to talks about material (wifi, plugs, etc.)
  • preparation
    • the organizer
    • people too passionate without knowing in advance how Wikipedia works
    • how much amount of times, go into details how many resources exactly
    • who are the audience, the people ? are they X or Y ? doesn't they know how WP works ? did they participate in the past ?
    • in Israel, we don't do introduction nor presentation before the workshop, it's less time to edit which is why people came
    • important: create you username in advance (even less time wasted for the workshop, especially with the 6 accounts per IP limit)
    • a lot of information in an username: XXlovesVanGogh, you can prepare articles need improvment about van Gogh
    • VISUAL_EDITOR ONLY!
    • question at the end of the workshop: what went well? or wrong? useful to understand, hear the people and got feedbacks. Help to know what to do next time.
  • Big question: What is in it for me?
    • We're believer, we all love Wikipedia, of course
    • good for the ego too (if you like and enjoy it of course, don't push yourself)
    • « I edit for XX year and did YYY edits »
    • worst experience was with editor that you don't understand (different subjects and even words)
    • do workshops that suits you! improving is knowledge is important but do it efficiently
  • discussions
