Some information on how to add one’s name (and project?) would be welcome. Or a template. H. (talk) 08:07, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Just have a look at the existing listing. A wiki link to your user page at your local wiki, with the display showing the user name @ wiki name. KTC 15:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I copied the portion between the arrows and replaced "username" with my user name: <* [[en:User:username|username@enwiki]]> Is that correct? Mcintireallen 06:38, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Can you please exclude bots? --Erwin 11:21, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Accounts that have bot flag shouldn't had been sent the email, it was a mistake. KTC 20:20, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
But some bots haven't flag in some languages and because of date of registration and number of edits are "eligible". Please, exclude account, which have SUL and bot flag on some wiki. JAn Dudík 12:42, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
I think User:Pathoschild has at least one botflag. -- Lavallen 06:30, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Any progress after four years? My bot today got two mails... JAn Dudík (talk) 07:33, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Why is the page locked? I want to add my name. Chris9086

I have no idea what the requirement for auto confirm is on meta, so um just wait and possibly make a few edits. You're in no hurry anyway, the next election is not for 2 years. :D KTC 22:30, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Why is the page locked? I want to add my name for elections. 14:06, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Please exclude me too from this mailing list. My main account is on Simple English under the pseudo oNaNcle 10:22, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Not working[edit]

I'm in the list, my bot is in the list; yet I've received a notification. As such this is unsolicited communications failing under the definition of spam. Mind fix this? Thank you, -- Dferg 11:35, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Still receiving notices[edit]

About 2 hours ago, I received an email with the subject "Wikimedia Foundation Elections 2013". At the bottom of the email is contained the following notice: "To remove yourself from future notification, please add your user name at <>". I am already on this list. Why am I still receiving emails? --auburnpilot talk 04:12, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

This is indeed strange. I'll ask someone to comment on this. PiRSquared17 (talk) 04:15, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Is it possible you have another account with the same email address set, not excluded on the list? PiRSquared17 (talk) 04:19, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply! That didn't even cross my mind and is exactly what happened. AuburnPilot is my main account and AuburnPiIot is my secondary account (the L is Pilot is actually an I). Thanks again and apologies for the confusion. I'll add that account to the list. --auburnpilot talk 04:44, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
A good! I was getting worried :) Thanks PiR and Auburn. Jalexander (talk) 05:33, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

This is till happening in 2015. I have just received spam to both my accounts (User:Pek the Penguin and User:Optimist on the run), even though they are both on this list. Please get this fixed before sending spam in future.Optimist on the run (talk) 05:34, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Before I added this username I got even two notices, perhaps because I have a renamed account? This is now my sockpuppett Klaas|Z4␟V: 10:21, 28 May 2015 (UTC) User:KlaasZ4usV
I too received today's Election Committee email, even though I'm already on list. Please fix this. – voidxor (talk | contrib) 18:29, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Why list?[edit]

I don't have, did not and don't intend to subscribe myself on any list: if I haven't checked "Enable email from other users" in my user preferences - that means I DO NOT want any mail, including that from Wikimedia Foundation Election Committee.

Instead of tinkering all the time with mediawiki CMS constantly making "improvements", please do a better system of delivery which respects users' preferences in YOUR database. --Bonč (talk) 10:42, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

I also object to having to opt out of bulk e-mails. (If nothing else why do I have to publicly declare my disinterest? Why is it not private setting in my preferences?) I have email from other users enabled in my preferences, but the e-mail I received that pointed me to this list is clearly not from a user, but from an automated process.
If the Foundation wants to send bulk e-mails, I suggest that there should be an additional option in Preferences explicitly for such (bulk, automated) e-mails, independent of the options for enabling e-mails from other users, watchlist changes, etc. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:35, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

There is no "save page" button... I want to add my name. (and yes, I am registered and confirmed and currently logged in. Add my name, and don't send me any more emails. Thewolfchild (talk) 18:58, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

This is now done, by the way. odder (talk) 21:36, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
