[edit]Hi - I'm attaching the text of an invitation to a film screening and discussion in Istanbul next week: do please pass on if you know someone who might be interested.

Graduate Student Lounge Istanbul Bilgi University Santral Campus
“People are Knowledge,” a film by Achal Prabhala, Priya Sen and Zen Marie, explores how oral citations could be incorporated into Wikipedia and asks how a system of oral citations would challenge different forms of historical knowledge based on written documents in European languages. The screening will be followed by a discussion on the Internet and historical practice with Murat Güvenç, a professor in the Department of Sociology and the director of Urban Studies Research Centre (USRC) at Istanbul Sehir University, and Jon Soske, an assistant professor in the Department of History and Classical Studies at McGill University.
All are welcome.

Wikimedia LGBT
[edit]| Wikimedia LGBT+ | ||
| Wikimedia LGBT+ is a proposed thematic organization that seeks to promote the development of content on Wikimedia projects which is of interest to LGBT+ communities. Proposed activities include outreach at LGBT events, Wikimania and other Wikimedia events, an international campaign called Wiki Loves Pride, and work on safe space policies, among other collaborations and interwiki projects. Active Wikimedians are welcome to join this cause! Please consider adding your name as a participant/supporter. Current tasks include translating pages, building a strong framework here at Meta, and achieving user group status (with the eventual goal of becoming a thematic organization). Your feedback is welcome on the discussion page. |

[edit]Hello Wikimedia Türkiye!
My name is Amanda Jurno and I’m writing to you on behalf of the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team. We would like to invite you and your community to start using the CapX tool.

CapX is a platform designed for Wikimedians around the world to connect through skills and collaboration. It offers a simple and user-friendly way to find and engage with people who can offer specific expertise, helping make collaboration across the movement more efficient and accessible.
If you’d like a clearer sense of where we’re headed, you can read more about our Vision and Purpose here'. We’ve also prepared a simple visualisation of how CapX works. Additional documentation, FAQs, tutorials, and how-to videos are available on our Meta-Wiki page. The more your community joins CapX, the clearer your view becomes of how capacity-building is growing across your region via the CapX's Data Analytics dashboard.
If you experience any difficulties using the tool, you can consult our User Guide, which includes step-by-step tutorials and short videos explaining each feature. To get in touch with the CapX team, share feedback, or suggest improvements, feel free to email us at capx
