  • Wikimedia Statistics can be difficult to interpret. What is your impression, how many steady contributors do you have?

There are approximately 20 to 30 regular contributors in Uzbek, with WikiStipendiya contest having increased them to above than one hundred, as of 2022.   • Are your contributors mostly native speakers?

  • Where do your contributors live (regions/country)?

As of 2022, most are from Uzbekistan, however there are also a few contributors in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan (where there are strong Uzbek minorities in areas adjacent to Uzbekistan). NikosLikomitros (talk) 22:58, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • How common is it that your contributors meet in real life?

In 2022, there was a program named WikiOromgoh, a weeklong camping for WikiStipendiya participants, and other users. WikiStipendiya has mostly contributors which are 15 to 35 years old, mirroring the age group of the most contributors of Uzbek Wikipedia (that already contributed before WikiStipendiya). Yes. In 2022, as a product of the collaboration of the Uzbek usergroup and the youth affairs committee of Uzbekistani government, a contest named WikiStipendiya in order to increase the reach of Uzbek Wikipedia. Even the Uzbek president Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about WikiStipendiya in late June 2022 (see the page Mehrinoz Abbosova in Uzbek for more detail). Inspired from the 2019 decree of Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the development of Uzbek content on the net, the government's youth affairs committee collaborated with the Uzbek usergroup, resulting in the creation of the WikiStipendiya contest.   • What does the public outreach for your edition look like? Do you have flyers, give lectures, trainings etc.?

  • Does your edition concentrates on certain topics, like your region and language, or Latin Wikipedia on Roman history and Christianity?
Most users are interested in rock-music, so we have plenty articles covering rock-bands and heavy metal musicians. Abdullais4u 03:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Uzbekistan, settlements and cities around the world (due to robot activity), topics of general interest and Soviet republics, and various sectors have a decent coverage. There is a lot of thematic development with WikiStipendiya, although the machine translating is a problem. NikosLikomitros (talk) 22:58, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Did your edition enjoy text donations, for example from older encyclopedias?

Language[edit]

  • Is there a generally accepted norm about your language (spelling, dictionary, pronunciation)?
Both yes and no. We have special organizations responsible for standartization of Uzbek language, but there are different norms on some topics. Abdullais4u 03:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • How do you deal with different spellings, dialects etc. (like B.E. lift and A.E. elevator)?
We generally select Uzbek version of the word (if available), and if there are many versions of it, we select most spoken/written one. Abdullais4u 03:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As above. There is a consensus. You will see differences mostly in how the apostrophe (e.g. o', g') is written (which means, if there is an okina symbol or an apostrophe). Cyrillic is used from some users, and there is a converter. Cyrillic has very wide use in the country, even as of 2022. NikosLikomitros (talk) 22:58, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
